MEMBERSHIP

Members of the society enjoy the following entitlements:

  • Quarterly journal, The South Australian Genealogist
  • Free entry to the society's library
  • Member rates for society services including the Research Service
  • Special Interest Group meetings
  • Reciprocal rights when visiting most major interstate genealogical societies
  • Remote members (check map) receive special services including two hour's free research per annum

    (A remote member is defined as a full member whose postal address is located outside the area in South Australia bounded by the east coastof St Vincent Gulf, the River Murray and a straight westerly (Lat 34.1) line drawn from the River Murray to the head of St Vincent Gulf. That is, their postal address is outside the map... )

Volunteers
Many members contribute to the Society by becoming volunteers.  There are privileges for undertaking voluntary work and you do not have to attend the library for some of the tasks.
If you are interested, contact the appropriate person:

  • Library volunteers - staff the library during opening hours, assist in the management of the library and undertake research for clients. 
    Contact the chairperson of the Library Committee.

  • Project volunteers - assist in the projects of the Society.  Check out the current projects to see where you can assist.
    Contact the chairperson of the Projects Committee.

  • Admin volunteers - assist in managing the office and fabric of the building.  You may have skills that would save the Society costs!
    Contact the chairperson of the Administration Committee.
