Q: How do I navigate this
website?
A: You can navigate this website
by using the menu on the left side of each page. Each menu item
when clicked on will take you into a page or set of pages related
to that topic. Some pages will have a sub-menu at the top part
of the text (e.g..Option1 | Option2
| Option3 ). This allows you to view each
of the pages related to this topic of the menu. The main menu
also has a 'Quick Link' feature which will allow
you to jump to any page of the web site directly by clicking in
the box and then choosing an option from the list that appears.
Q: I can't open the pdf files?
A: This website has many pdf
documents. These show the pdf icon .
To open PDF files you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed
on your computer. To get Acrobat free, click "Click here
to get Acrobat Reader" link on most pages that display pdf
files or click
here to be taken direct to the download page. This takes you
to Adobe's website. Follow the steps and choose Language, Connection
speed ("dialup" if you have a modem), and Platform (You
need to know what version of Windows or Mac OS you have ~ 95,
98, 98SE, XP, OS9.x, OS10). Then to download Acrobat click on
the red button near the bottom of the page. When saved on your
computer, just install Acrobat Reader. You should now be able
to open, see and print pdf files.
Q: I have Acrobat Reader
installed but I still cant view a pdf file?
A: There are several possible
reasons why this may happen. You may have a very old version of
acrobat, if so you may wish to update by following this
link. Your web browser might not have browser integration
available. One solution is to right mouse click on the link and
choose 'Save Target As..' then choose to save the file to your
desktop for viewing by double clicking the icon once the download
has finished.
Q: Are there any databases
I can search?
A: Yes, one major feature is
our library catalogue which you are
able to enter search keyword(s) to find anything available at
our library. If you wish you can search all fields or only for
a match in Author, Title, Keywords or Call No. You can also search
an index to articles published in the Society Journal from the
Journal page. Other searchable
databases are Place Codes, SA Shipping, SA Places and SA Deaths
& Burials all accessable from the Databases
page.
Q: How can I join the Society?
A: Simply go to the membership
page and print and fill in the application form provided.

Q: Will the Society disclose
my information to anyone?
A: No, SAGHS will not resell
or knowingly disclose information to any other parties except
where required to do so by law. Please read the Privacy

Q: How do I unsubscribe from
the newsletter?
A: All newsletter emails have
a link at the bottom to simply remove yourself from the list.
This sends an email to
which will send a final email confirming that it was you who requested
to be removed. Once you either reply or click on the link in the
email and follow the prompts you will be removed. Only after you
have been unable to successfully unsubscribe this way should you
